Introducing our Newest Team Member – Jenn Spicer

Jenn Spicer
To achieve true professional success, I believe everyone should feel happiness and fulfillment in their career. And so, I’m thrilled to join Delightful Communications and have the opportunity to relive this belief every day, coaching our clients to reach their career goals by helping them become more discoverable, shareable, and memorable.

As the Personal Brand Program Manager for our personal branding services, I use my experience and skills to manage and grow the program while providing highly-valuable services to our clients that use our creative and analytical skills, coupled with our knowledge of human behavior, to craft the language and strategy our clients need to succeed.

My journey

Before coming to Delightful Communications, I spent nearly 15 years in administration, as an executive assistant, and in sales roles.

Feeling a bit like Goldilocks, I worked in a variety of jobs and industries, but none were quite right. Each time, I discovered something about myself. I discovered I’m really good at working with data, organizing processes, and managing projects. I need to be constantly learning and growing. When I worked in insurance sales, I loved having control over my time and developing relationships with my clients, but I hated cold calling and the insecurity of commission-based pay.

I’ve also been involved in theater for as long as I can remember. That passion comes from my fascination with how we connect with each other. How we can take communication beyond simple data transmission and make a meaningful, positive, and lasting impact on each other’s lives.

Tired of not following my own passions, I went back to school and graduated in 2016 from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Electronic Media & Communication and (because, why not?) a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts.

Delighted to be here

After I graduated, I got my first glimpse into the world of personal branding. My background and experience, despite my new degree, were not getting me the communications roles I desired.

I wanted to shift into marketing and executive communications, but without having to disregard the other skills and experience I’d developed. Using some of the basic principles of personal branding, I focused my experience in my resume and online profiles, emphasizing where I wanted to go instead of just where I’d been.

I took a serious look at myself – what I love doing, what I hate doing, what I’m good at, what gives me fulfillment, etc.

To my target audience, marketing agencies, I changed the way I described myself, my skills, and my experiences.

And, it worked!

At Delightful, I get to use the full range of skills I’ve developed while still pushing myself to constantly grow. In fact, one of Delightful’s core principles is #AlwaysLearning.

Nothing makes me happier than helping our clients go through the same transformation I did. I love helping them reach their goals by communicating their value effectively online and in person.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I’m happy to have moved back to my gloriously gloomy home after spending six years in the too-sunny Texas desert. Outside of my life at Delightful, I spend my time embracing another Delightful principle, #FamilyFirst, by binge-watching television, doing puzzles, and playing board, card, and video games with my husband and friends.
