Social Media Trends To Watch For in 2019 with SEMrush

Last week, I had the chance to speak during a SEMrush webinar all about the social media trends to watch for in 2019. I joined the ranks of a superb group of experts, Ashley Ward, Akvile DeFazio, and Gavin Bell.

As 2018 ramps down, it’s important to begin to look toward the new year and prepare for what’s to come. The social media landscape is constantly evolving, and it’s important to stay on top of trends and prepare for what’s to come.

A Few Predictions for 2019:

Video content will continue to rise. Everyone is trying to bring their brands to life and narrate their stories, and one of the most effective and engaging ways to do so is through video. From Instagram Stories to videos on LinkedIn, expect to see more and more video from brands and individuals when scrolling through social.

Here at Delightful, we often talk about the importance of personal branding, and the world is starting to catch on. Expect to see more individuals focus on their personal brands, as well as brands shifting to put people first. More of a focus on real stories and real people at the forefront of campaigns. This echoes one of our core principles here at Delightful, people not just pixels.

We also talked about the advances in AI and machine learning. In 2018 there was a big focus on data and security with the rise of these new technologies.  I believe that marketers have the moral and business obligation to have discussions about the importance of data security and the importance of transparency around those conversations.

Curious what social media trends you should be prepared for in 2019? You can still check out the webinar, you don’t want to miss out.

Cheers,

Mel
